About Unity
Our Mission
At Unity, our mission is to spread the message of love, hope and faith to all. We strive to create a community of believers who support each other in their spiritual journey.
Our History
The charter for the church was approved June 27, 1832, by Hartford Presbytery(now Shenango Presbytery) in response to a petition signed by 64 Lackawannock Township residents. A log meeting house was promptly erected and the first worship service was held Aug. 7, 1832, with the Rev. James Satterfield serving as circuit-riding pastor. A frame building was erected in 1837, followed by a larger building containing 58 pews in 1853. The present building was erected in 1900, and a fellowship hall was added in 1963.
